Standing Behind the Family Tapestry

The story moves smoothly from one generation to the next. In between the various stories are abstract impressions of poetry and prose. 

Throughout the book are the historical events which allows the reader to use their "mind's eye" to visualize the time and association to comprehend the writers's thoughts!

Tapestry is a good, well-written, interesting picce of history. What  I admired and appreciated about it is that it is not written from a vitimhood angle, and the story istself is unique because the family did not begin as slaves.
